| Banana Tree |
A banana tree is not really a fruit tree, but an herb, with a "tree trunk" that is a stem of tightly wrapped leaves. The banana we eat is the fruit (technically a false berry) and the black piece that sometimes remains on the end of the banana is the dead flower. Bananas ripen best after being harvested, so each fifty pound bunch is picked green. There are over four hundred varieties of bananas, but most of the bananas found at the supermarket are the yellow Cavendish bananas. The Burro banana is shorter than the Cavendish, and has an interesting lemony flavor. The Blue Java has blotchy silver-toned skin and tastes of ice cream, while the Manzano tastes of strawberries. The plantain is a large firm banana variety that is typically cooked as a starch (before ripening). Lady Finger bananas are a small, curved, very sweet variety.
Banana is the common name for herbaceous plants of the genus Musa and for the fruit they produce. It is one of the oldest cultivated plants. They are native to tropical South and Southeast Asia, and are likely to have been first domesticated in Papua New Guinea. Today, they are cultivated throughout the tropics. They are grown in at least one hundred seven countries, primarily for their fruit, and to a lesser extent to make fiber, banana wine and as ornamental plants. Its fruits, rich in starch, grow in clusters hanging from the top of the plant. They come in a variety of sizes and colors when ripe, including yellow, purple, and red.

The banana plant is the largest herbaceous flowering plant. The plants are normally tall and fairly sturdy and are often mistaken for trees, but their main or upright stem is actually a pseudostem that grows six to seven.six metres (twenty to twenty-four point nine ft) tall, growing from a corm. Each pseudostem can produce a single bunch of bananas. After fruiting, the pseudostem dies, but offshoots may develop from the base of the plant. Many varieties of bananas are perennial.
Select: Look for plump, even-colored bananas without green tips (which will require further ripening). To ripen at home, place in a brown paper bag. Use bananas with lots of brown speckles for breads, because these are fully ripe and all starch has been converted to sugar.
Store: Store uncovered at room temperature, or in the refrigerator for several days (the peel will turn brown but the fruit will be fine).
Prepare: Flesh will brown when exposed to air. To avoid browning brush with lemon juice. bake, broil, poach, raw.
The banana contains a lot of starch, with potatoes, very rich, tastes good, at the same time have more nutrients, to supplement the body, especially good.At the same time, the banana contains carotene, can prevent dry eyes, the computer can use after eating, with frequent contact with computer people, this is a good news.
